Dilute Color Horses
All pictures are listed from newest to oldest. Please note that this in no way represents all horses I've painted in 16 years, I've trimmed the galleries to only hold the best examples of horses done in the most recent years.
2008 Dilutes:
Breyer Semi Rearing Mustang done to pale buckskin with unusual leg markings and white tipped tail. Custom Order for Jennifer Bui. Finished in January 2008. Free paint job donated to a live show and won by Jennifer.
Please note: The lack of shading on this model's points was done on purpose because the real horse reference had NO shading and very stark black points that also were mixed up/not complete color. This is not typical of my work, and I know it looks unfinished but I couldn't 'shade' it or give it more realistic looking points and stay true to the reference photo given to me. As the reference photo isn't mine and isn't Jennifer's I can't post it here so you can see it, however the 'odd' markings were created due to the real horse's picture, and again do not represent the 'typical' norm of my work. I usually take extreme care to shade black points and I knew this one looked unfinished, so Jennifer was advised to 'show' him with the reference. Unfortunately I've seen people using him as a 'standard' for all my work and he simply isn't one. The real horse reference was a very peculiar buckskin and that's why the model looks the way he does.
